Shinjinbukan Shorin Ryu Karate Master Instructor

Master Yoshihiko Shinzato is the Chief instructor of the Shinjinbukan Shorin Ryu Karate of Florida.

Shinzato Sensei was born in in the city of Chinen, Okinawa (Japan) in 1950. Shinzato Sensei comes from a long tradition of karate Masters. He is a fourth generation karateka in the direct lineage of Shorin Ryu Karate. He started his Karate Journey at the age of 15 when he became Onaga Sensei first disciple. Since then he has dedicated his entire life to the art of Karate.

In 1977 he obtained 1st place in Kobudo (weapons) and 2nd place in Kumite (sparring) at the Okinawa Karate World Tournament; since then he has competed in numerous tournaments.

Today Shinzato Sensei is a familiar face at International tournaments where he acts as judge and many times he is asked to demonstrate some of the unique skills and techniques that he has developed over the years.

Shinzato Sensei holds a 5th degree black belt under Onaga Sensei of the Shinjinbukan Shorin Ryu Hombu Dojo and a 6th degree black belt in Kobudo (weapons). He has devoted over 36 years of his life to the art of Karate, not only keeping the teachings of his masters, but also improving and perfecting many karate techniques which he has taught to other Karate masters in Japan and abroad. Shorin Ryu Karate is a beautiful and exciting Martial Art.

  • Peru/Okinawa Karate & Kobudo Association (which he founded)
  • South American Martial Atrs Association
  • Ryukyu Martial Arts Preservation and Promotion Association.
